I am a creative director and cinematographer based in the Eastern Cape. With over 5 years of experience, I specialise in documentary work and advertising projects. With a fundamental basis in photography, I have produced and directed projects for brands such as the Nelson Mandela Museum and Mercedes-Benz South Africa (East London). I have also produced and directed numerous projects for small and medium-size business and local and international artists.
As a creative director, I am able to produce, manage, and deliver creative projects. My experience has honed my skills in research, treatment and pitch-decking projects, thus working in the creative process to build projects from the ground up. I have a proven track record in sourcing and working with creative teams on large-scale projects.
As a cinematographer, I pride myself on attention to detail in pulling off compositions. I rely less on visual effects and rely more on good composition and colour grading. This approach is built on the foundation of my roots in photography. This, in combination with a great team, a solid script and good sound design, comes together to make a cinematic result.
Photography is where my journey started. Like with most photographers, I started with small and intimate events before getting into the groove of what I now excel in. Nowadays, I specialise in creative studio portraits, and cover lifestyle events such as imigidi and weddings.
My go-to bodies of choice are the Canon R10 and Sony ZV-e10, and I am a skilled drone and gimbal operator with a mastery of cinematic lighting techniques.
